After nearly a decade working with children, teens, and young adults in McLean, Virginia, I’ve brought my expertise to Richmond to create a practice dedicated to helping kids thrive. As a licensed therapist in both Virginia and North Carolina, my passion is supporting young people—both neurodivergent and neurotypical—who struggle with anxiety, attention challenges, executive functioning difficulties, social skills, big emotions, low self-esteem, and more.
My vision is to build a team of like-minded clinicians who share a deep understanding of how to help kids navigate their inner world, build confidence, and develop the tools they need to succeed. By fostering connection and emotional growth, we’re here to support Richmond families in creating meaningful change.
Are you worried about your child’s emotions, behavior, or social struggles?
Maybe they seem anxious or withdrawn, or perhaps their big emotions come out in outbursts, defiance, or risky behaviors. You want to understand what’s going on beneath the surface and help them feel better—but it’s hard to know where to start.
I specialize in supporting children, teens, and young adults who are struggling with social, emotional, educational, and behavioral challenges. Whether your child is dealing with anxiety, depression, difficulties making friends, or behavioral concerns, I use evidence-based strategies to help them manage emotions, build confidence, and develop stronger relationships. My goal is to help your family understand each other more deeply and create meaningful, lasting change.
Supporting your child’s emotional well-being isn’t something you have to do alone. I work closely with parents, teachers, physicians, and other care providers (as much as you’re comfortable) to ensure a coordinated, whole-child approach to healing and growth. Every child is different, so I tailor my treatment to fit their unique needs, using interventions backed by research and real-world effectiveness.
Originally from the D.C. area, my path to becoming a therapist was shaped by a deep love of connection—whether between people or even between people and animals. I studied Psychology and Evolutionary Biology at Tulane University in New Orleans before working with marine mammals alongside the U.S. Navy in San Diego. Later, I ran a horseback riding program in Virginia, helping children build confidence and trust with animals while earning my Master’s in Counseling from George Mason University.
I spent five years at the INOVA Kellar Center, working with adolescents in crisis due to mental health and substance use struggles. Moving into private practice allowed me to offer the deeper, individualized care I know families need. Now, with over five years as a licensed clinician, I also help train the next generation of therapists through clinical supervision.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed by your child’s struggles, know that support is here. Together, we can help them gain the skills, confidence, and emotional balance they need to thrive.
